Katie GAlloway – owner

Katie taught herself cooking skills from a very early age. She came home from school just in time every day to make sure she could see her favorite cooking show—Martha Stewart. She used her allowance to buy the written transcripts of Martha Stewart’s TV show (way before the internet and DVRs), and she pored over Julia Child’s cookbooks. She loved watching Justin Wilson cooking with flavors that were exotic in the Midwest at the time.

Katie spent time working in some of the best restaurants in Kansas City and was a quick study of those who were generous in sharing their expertise. After graduating from the University of Kansas with a business degree and trying her hand at investment banking, she knew her path had been determined as a kid…she was a natural-born chef.

Today as the mother of her three daughters, she has solidified her commitment to home-grown food combined with the awareness of local-grown sources. Her family is very involved in gardening, picking fruit, gathering eggs, and caring for the goats. Katie’s husband, John, with a business of his own, lends his skills to Farmfare when ever and however he can.

Katie’s infectious smile and can-do attitude come with her skills at cooking. Welcome to Farmfare.

We’re glad you dropped in.
